RFL Benevolent Fund

1 Welcome-- Dave gave a welcome to all those present and showed his appreciation for the large attendance.

2 Apologies—Ken Davy, Brendan Callaghan, Laurie and Sandra Bostock, Louise Doyle, Helen Newsome.

3 Minutes of last meeting—The minutes of the last meeting were approved by Paul Roberts and seconded by Darren Eastwood.

4 Matters arising—There were no matters arising from the previous minutes.

5 Chairman report {DAC }—Dave gave a full and comprehensive report on the years events and in particular the Legends bar which is run for the benefit of the HGSA members on match days and has resulted in an increase of approx 150 new members. He stated however the raffle had been a huge disappointment against previous years and there was some doubt about next years event. The reindeer night on the 8th of Dec and the Fans forum on the 18th Jan 2018 are at an advanced stage and it is hoped to arrange a dinner prior to the start of the season, he concluded by thanking members of the committee for their continued support.

6 Secretary report {JTK } —Trevor's stated that as well as the success of the legends bar which he had not been involved in, another success story was the running of the gates on Academy games which has been a huge success and has seen a big increase in receipts. This will continue next season and since Trevor's report a further 5 volunteers have come forward offering assistance on match days. Trevor thanked all those who had assisted.

Due to illness within Helen's family it was agreed that the Financial and Membership reports should be delayed until Helen is available.

9 Speakers secretary report { DE }—Darren reported that he was at an advanced stage in arranging future speakers as far ahead as April 2018. Paul Jackson will be the speaker for the Nov meeting with confirmation pending for Rick Stone in Dec.

10 Publicity report, list of future events { DE }—Arrangements for the Fans Forum are progressing well. With Andrew Watson and Nigel Wood already pencilled in for the panel Darren was hopeful of announcing two more names in the near future.

11 Any other business—Dave gave details of a Masters game which would take place at Laund Hill on Sunday 15th October KO 1.30pm.

13 Date of next AGM—Tuesday 9th October 2018 at 7.30PM.

14 Presentation of Wagstaff trophy—Sebastine Ikahihifo who was the winner of the Harold Wagstaff Trophy was introduced to the audience before being presented with his award and then going on to make the draw for the annual raffle. The list of prize winners which will listed on the HGSA website. The evening was then concluded with a lively and amusing question and answer session
